Congratulations to all our students and their teachers on the outstanding academic results in June 2007:
National Curriculum Tests
National Curriculum Tests are taken every year by all students in state schools in England to assess their progress in the National Curriculum.
King's College students take Key Stage 2 tests at the end of Year 6 and Key Stage 3 tests at the end of Year 9. These tests are set by the official examination board and are taken under strict rules of confidentiality. We send the completed scripts to the UK for marking by fully qualified examiners employed by the examination board. Our students' results, therefore, can be measured against all schools in the UK where testing is mandatory.
Each student is awarded an official "level" from 1-8 (level 8 being the highest achievable at the age of 14). Since the Key Stage 3 tests were introduced at King's College the levels reached by our students have been substantially higher than the average for students in England. This is even true for English which is assessed as a first language.
