This new purpose-built school is located in La Moraleja which is one of the most highly regarded residential areas of Madrid and only15 kilometres from the centre of the city. The school, which opened its doors in September 2007, will eventually house 450 pupils from the age of 3 to 14 years (Nursery to Year 9). During the first year places are available for pupils aged 3 to 10 years (Nursery to Year 6).
The modern on-site facilities include:
Interactive whiteboards are available in all classrooms from National Curriculum Year 1 upwards.
The well-equipped Foundation Stage classrooms (Nursery and Reception) come complete with independent bathrooms and direct access to play areas. The Infant playground has high quality play equipment and safety surfaces.
At the age of fourteen, at the end of National Curriculum Year 9, pupils transfer to the main school site in Soto de Viñuelas to complete their final four years of study.
Catering Service
As an integral part of the King's College day, all students are served with lunch prepared daily on-site by our own catering service. Up to the age of seven, children sit with their class teacher and are served at the table. Older children use the dining room on a self service basis but are constantly supervised by duty teachers. Menus are carefully developed to ensure a balanced and nutritious diet. Parents of children in the Infant and Junior Departments are sent a copy of these menus at the beginning of each month.
Health
A doctor or nurse is in attendance at the La Moraleja campus for the whole school day. When pupils require special treatment, a local medical centre is used and parents are informed as a matter of priority. The school also has an insurance policy covering accidents suffered during school activities both on and off site.
Bus Service
An optional bus service covers the north of the city and outlying residential areas to the north-east. All routes are supervised by an adult monitor.
